ThThe purpose of this proposal is 1) to secure access to the private archive of Bakary Sidibé, 2) to obtain further funding for the project and 3) receive permission to copy selected documents for promotion and fundraising for the project. Assistance is sought from the Gambian government in the form of a letter of support of the scheduled journey to Gambia for the period dated 4th–29th July 2022 as well as access to Gambia for longer periods of research in the form of a residence permit extending up to two years, if possible.
